2023 SGAC Gallery Art Show Artist Fee

The Short Grass Arts Council is happy to invite South Dakota artists (age 18+) to participate in its Annual Gallery Art Show on July 14, 15, and 16 at Waterfront Gallery for the Arts, 207 E. Missouri Ave., in Pierre, South Dakota.
A public reception Friday night will welcome artists and viewers from 5pm to 7pm to kick off the weekend of art. Public showing continues Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 12pm to 3pm. Public attendance is free - donations are happily accepted.
Approved artists may submit up to five pieces of original art in one or more of the following categories:
- drawing
- acrylics
- oils
- printmaking
- photography
- fiber
- watercolor
- pastel
- mixed media
- textile
- pottery
- sculpture
- stained glass
- jewelry
- beading
- woodworking
- other (Please designate a category if not listed above)
Work must be ready to display: two-dimensional, flat artwork must be matted and/or framed and be ready to hang. Though every effort is made to protect all artwork throughout the weekend, Short Grass Arts Council cannot be held liable for any lost or damaged art.
The Gallery Art Show entry fee for artists is $20 total for up to five pieces. Artists are responsible for the delivery of their artwork to the Waterfront Gallery between 1pm and 7pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Please note: because of the time it takes to creatively display each piece, if you are unable to deliver your art Wednesday, we ask that you schedule a time to bring the art on Thursday, July 13, to assist us in displaying it. All artwork must be picked up immediately after the show on Sunday, July 16, unless arrangements can be made with the gallery for an alternate pickup time.
The deadline for submitting Artist Application Form is Friday, July 7, 2023. Please give a detailed description below of each piece you'll be submitting, listing its title, category (see above), selling price if for sale, “NFS” if not. If you have any questions, email info@shortgrassarts.org.
